Nutrition

Are the foods you are eating healing your body or harming it?

You can train hard every day but if you’re not eating the right foods, you’re like a hamster on a wheel and you won’t get very far. Every function in your body is directly tied to the nutrition that you are consuming. From healthy hair, skin and nails to brain and gut health – you are what you eat!

DIETS DO NOT WORK! Massive restrictions may help you lose weight short term, but they are not sustainable and most often lead to increased weight gain when they fail (yo-yo dieting). Do this enough times and you can wreak havoc on your metabolism, immune system and make it even harder to lose weight in the future.

Eating well does not mean you have to consume white fish and veggies you hate. In fact, we believe you should only consume foods you enjoy. Our Coaches will take the guess work out of meal planning and help you construct menus with foods you enjoy that are in line with your goals. You are an individual with specific tastes and goals that will continue to change as you progress in your fitness journey. We can show you how to have your cake and EAT IT!

Mental health is also directly tied to nutrition. Most anti-depressants use drugs to chemically alter the dopamine and serotonin levels in the body. These hormones are critically important and control your body’s mood and your brain’s pleasure and reward system. Serotonin helps regulate mood, sleep and digestion and is developed in the gut – that’s right, the foods you are eating can help increase (or decrease) these levels in the body and have a direct impact on mood and mental health.

Food is such a huge part of life. It should taste great and make you feel good. If you are in pain, have trouble sleeping, get regular headaches, suffer from depression, or have issues with digestion you might want to take a look at the foods you are consuming.
